PRS Multi-Cultural Night - April 2, 2019
Posted on 03/05/2019

On Tuesday, April 2, Philip R. Smith will hold its 3rd Annual Multi-Cultural Night for students and families. The evening will begin at 6:30 in the cafeteria where families will share presentations on home heritage and culture. Families are encouraged to b
ring favorite items from home that represent your family’s traditions and culture:

  • Traditional dress
  • Pictures of traditional food, celebrations, holidays
  • Finger foods (for safety please include a list of ingredients)
  • Tri-fold boards for displaying information can be provided by the school; please call the main office to inquire

At 7:00, there will be a special performance of “Capoeira" by Ginga-Brazil in the gymnasium. Capoeira is an art form that defies description. It is a fight, a dance, a game. It is creativity, intuition, grace, strength, history and tradition. To understand the movement, music and magnetism of Capoeira, we must explore the art’s fascinating tradition and mysterious history. Capoeira is a story of triumph and freedom.

We hope you will join us for a wonderful evening with family and friends.

Anyone interested setting up a display to share their family’s heritage and culture should notify the school's main office by March 26. The sign-up form is available below:
