Weekly Update September 18, 2026

Thank you so much for participating in our Annual Open House on 9/16!  Students were excited to show off their school!!  

Here is a document that has several links that you can visit to learn more about each grade level, special area, and other departments.  You can revisit the links at any time throughout the year!

Each year Lisa (PRS Admin Asst) creates a "Family Directory"  that is shared with PRS Families.  The directory provides families with name, address, email address and phone number of all of our families.  This tool has been used to provide contact information that helps to build relationships and community among our families.  Often times families use the directory to send out birthday invitations.

We do have an opt out option so if you prefer to not have your family listed in the directory, please email Lisa Lovett  by Friday,9/25 at llovett@southwindsorschools.org

Tiger Tracks 2026 is off to a ROARing start! 

We’re officially one week into our Jog-a-Thon fundraiser, and there’s still plenty of time to join the fun! Register your child, share their fundraising page with family and friends, and help us reach our goal for PRS students.

Reminder that our arrival time in the morning is from 8:55 a.m.-9:15 a.m.  If you are driving your child to school, please plan to have them to school by 9:10 a.m. so they can get breakfast if they want and be in their classroom at 9:15 a.m. when teaching and learning begins.  

To ensure a smooth dismissal for our students and staff, please communicate all dismissal changes to the office by 1:30 p.m. We are working out the kinks and your communication is key to making sure students are where they need to be. Thank you so much!!

At the start of each month, we’ll be sending home a newsletter connecting our school-wide expectations with our Portrait of a Graduate traits. It includes practical tips for home, what we are practicing at school, and easy talk prompts for your family! 

To wrap up each month, we will celebrate our students and classrooms during our Tiger Time Assembly. We will share the slide show highlighting Tigers who shined in that monthly trait.

Want to become a Room Parent?

Room Parents serve as the liaisons between teachers and families while helping make the school year extra special! It’s a fun and rewarding way to get involved, connect with other families, and support your child’s classroom.

This year, we will be awarding $350,000 in CHET 529 College Savings Plan account contributions to students in grades K-12 and technology prizes to schools. For the winning students, we will be awarding:

With the help of a parent or guardian, students will submit an answer to a grade-appropriate question about their dreams or how they could help their community. They can answer by submitting a drawing or painting, essay, or video, and must be included with an entry form.

Submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on November 6. There is no cost to enter. For program details, rules and the entry process, visit:

A school in your district could be a winner too! Each school that is represented by at least one student’s entry will be eligible for a random drawing for a technology prize worth $5,000 (a total of 10 schools will win a technology prize).
